Escaping the Third World

Immigration is a hot potato these days. Moreover, some cities have enacted a return to the third world program, with the illusion of deporting illegal immigrants by voluntary means. Will any illegal immigrant find this lunatic program attractive? Not even the most ignorant. Who wants to go back to the third world? Not even the prisoners of Guantanamo.

It is obvious that this policy targets the Hispanic community, which is the biggest minority of the nation, with over 39 million people. Nevertheless it is difficult to judge the overall contribution of Hispanics to this great nation; some are highly educated, while others can’t read or write. In other words, some are brilliant and some are just criminals. But it is not the US fault, but our own. Why do we let brainless figures like Chavez, illiterates like Evo, morons like Correa, and sexually abusers like Ortega rule the destiny of our countries? Blame it on us, or better off blame it on the Spaniards who colonized Latin America.

There is a big misconception among pro immigrants however. The US was not built by immigrants, but by settles who came with their families escaping, not the ignorance and poverty of the third world, but from religion persecution. Americans, like any other country, have the right to choose who comes and who goes. But it must be a fair game, and not roulette where the mood of an immigration officer dictates the faith of a human being and his family.

The immigration system has collapsed. People who deserved to be here, thanks to their skills and education, are being forced to leave. On the other hand, some lucky immigrants get green cards just by stepping their ignorant feet on American soil.

Good Lord, please forbid the wet feet, dry feet law.

Se congela el TLC de Colombia con los Estados Unidos

Inconcebible pero entendible. La realidad es que Estados Unidos no ve en Colombia un aliado, sino un país tercer mundista proveedor de uno de sus mayores males. En el exterior se nos discrimina sin compasión, y se nos repudia sin consentimiento. Pero aquí seguimos los Colombianos de bien trabajando e innovando donde nos pongan. Gente con talante que desafortunadamente acarrea un pecado original, como si fuéramos nosotros los Colombianos los que nos hubiéramos comido la manzana del edén.

Me pregunto sin respuesta, por que castigar al pueblo Colombiano através de medidas económicas? No es Estados Unidos el promotor de la globalización? Tal vez podríamos explicar este desplante como un fenómeno político, instigado por la elección presidencial de nuestro altruista vecino del norte. Los demócratas necesitan consolidarse en el poder como sea, y para esto necesitan el apoyo de los desprestigiados grupos sindicalistas; que de sindicalistas no tienen nada mas que su nombre. El partido democrata sabe muy dentro de su ambivalente conciencia política, que el TLC es una necesidad para Colombia y Estados Unidos, pero no pueden arriesgarse a apoyarlo públicamente sin antes haberse posicionado en el trono del poder global. Por otro lado los republicanos, y mi indiscutible favorito John McCain, son un poco mas sinceros con los intereses regionales del imperio, y por ende se la jugaron con el Fast Track.

Las consecuencias para Colombia pueden ser nefastas. Esto dará pie a la desalmada izquierda Colombiana para que se hagan acercamientos con gobiernos como el de nuestro archienemigo el petulante Hugo Chávez. Pero como diría el mismo Chávez, las relaciones de Colombia y Estados Unidos van para el congelador.
